On December 18, 2025 Kyle Joseph Evans of Gretna, Louisiana entered eternal rest. Kyle was a graduate of the Jesuit Class of 2008, and was the co-owner of Green Harbors, a shallow water dredging company.
Kyle was everything to everyone. If you needed a friend, Kyle would be there. If you needed something fixed, Kyle could do it. If you just needed someone to sit with you and make you feel better, Kyle was that person. In Kyle’s life he showed us how to live for others with ultimate kindness.
Kyle loved baseball. He was able to see a game at 15 out of 30 Major League Baseball stadiums. His favorite stadium was Fenway. He and our Dad went to 10 All Star Games. Kyle loved the Home Run Derby. Most recently, Kyle was helping his niece Evangeline discover her love of softball by teaching her everything he knew and taking her to get all of the gear she needed. We know Kyle will forever be an angel by Dad’s side watching every World Series.
Kyle was an extremely talented guitar player who also loved to fix and build guitars. Kyle played in a few bands, most notably the first one he started with his cousins, Andrew and Peter Church, when they were kids called KAP 183 because of their love for Blink 182. He especially loved live music. At concerts Kyle always paid attention to the instruments. He could point out any instrument and tell you what it was, what it was made out of, why they used it on that song, who made it, and other famous artists who used the same instrument.
Kyle was so loved. He brought endless joy to everyone’s life. Kyle is survived by his parents, Rachel and Michael Evans Sr., his brother Michael Evans Jr., and his sisters Keri Evans Ansley and Lori Evans Alley (Dillon). He was a wonderful uncle to Abigail Evans, Delylah Paquet, Isabella Ruiz, Landry Ansley, Evangeline Ansley, and Zion and Ezra Church. Kyle also has so many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins who will surely miss him. He leaves behind his fiancé, Chelsea Curole, who he loved with all his heart.
Kyle is preceded in passing by his maternal Grandparents Tina and Ross Vasquez Sr., his paternal Grandparents Lonie and Frank Evans Sr., his aunt Diane Evans, his Uncle Dean Church, and his beloved dog Layla. We are comforted knowing that he and Layla are now in heaven, surrounded by family who loved him dearly, in God’s eternal peace.
Kyle, we will think of you when we hear the songs we shared, and had a love for, and sang together while you played guitar. We will miss every moment of a life in which we all should have been able to grow old together. There are no words to express how broken our hearts are and how great our love will continue to be for you. We encourage you all to join us in living like Kyle by being as kind and as selfless as he was, always.
In lieu of flowers our family asks that a donation be made in Kyle’s name to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 411 N. Rampart St, New Orleans, La, 70112.
