Kevin George Glidewell

Kevin George Glidewell, age 62, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 7, 2024.  Kevin is survived by his children, Whitney Glidewell of Winter Springs, Florida; Bradley Glidewell (Laken Glidewell) of Jacksonville, Florida and his children’s mother, Terrie Glidewell of Daytona Beach, Florida.  He is the son of Linda Myers Amacker and the late Larry Amacker, Sr. both of Poplarville, Mississippi.  Brother of Kelly Glidewell (Judy Glidewell) of Terrytown, Louisiana and Larry Amacker, Jr. (Amy Amacker) of Birmingham, Alabama.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Kevin was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a resident of Terrytown, Louisiana.  He graduated in 1979 from River Oaks Academy and later graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Northeast Louisiana University in 1983.  He spent his summers in college as a roughneck in the Gulf of Mexico on drilling rigs.  He worked as a Geologist for three years immediately out of college.  For the last 37 years, he worked in the Insurance Industry and as a Senior Claims Adjuster for the past 34 years in Texas, Florida, and Louisiana.  Kevin was very dedicated to his job, loved what he did and was loved by many of his clients.  He loved spending time with his children and his beloved canine companion, Tucker of 11 years who passed away in November of 2022.  He loved playing golf with his son, Bradley.  He visited the Grand Canyon with his son Bradley in 2006 and most recently with his daughter Whitney this last Father’s Day.  He loved all sports, but most importantly he loved watching the New Orleans Saints.  He also enjoyed watching Florida Gator and FSU Seminoles football, where his children attended college.  Kevin will be missed by his family and all who came into contact with him.  A memorial visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 10AM until 11AM at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey, Louisiana.  A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11AM.  Family will have a private interment in the future at a later date.  Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com.
