Kenneth Edward Monroe

Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Edward Monroe of Gretna passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 surrounded by his family. He is the son of the late Anthony and Mercedes Theriot Monroe. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Joni Scairono Monroe. Father of Richard Bryant (Kaitlyn), Lindsay Monroe,and Whitney Monroe. Grandfather of Joshua Begnaud. Brother of Sandra Roberts (Doug), Eric Monroe (Ruth), Tony Monroe (Constance), Cindy Miller (Neal), Darryl Monroe (Lisa). Mr. Monroe is also survived by Michelle Patterson (Jerry), 7 nieces, 8 nephews, several great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Age 75 years and a resident of Gretna, LA. He served in the US Navy for over 10 years as a mechanical engineer and was a Vietnam War Veteran. Kenneth was an avid fisherman, hunter, and golfer.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 475 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA.
