Kenneth Ray Ely was called home by Jesus and entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the age of 80. Son of the late Louis Ely, Sr. and Minnie Wise Ely. Former Husband of Shirley Ely. Loving and devoted father and affectionately loved by his daughter, Tammy Ely Grant (Mark), Charles Sampey, Jr. (Terri), Donald Sampey (Lisa) and Ronald “Timmy” Sampey (Shelley). Beloved Grandfather of Dana Sampey, Hayley Sampey and Hayden Sampey. Loving Great Grandfather of Blair Watts and Bailey Rivarde. Brother of the late Louis Jr., Minnie Eula, Donald, Idabell, Delmar “Whitey” and Dennis Ely. Special Brother-in-law to Marie and Robin Toups, Joe Rousch (Faye), Ester Hammill, Ellen Reidie (BJ) and Pearl Chatelain. Kenneth was born in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and was a lifelong resident of Westwego, Louisiana. He served his country as a Corporal while enlisted 3 years in the United States Army. He is also survived by 2 Godchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and dear friends. Known as “Mr. Kenny” who worked at Temento’s for over 25 years with dedicated customers who became friends over the years. .Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 9AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11AM. Interment will follow in Gates of Heaven Mausoleum (Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery), Westwego, Louisiana.
