Kenneth Craig "Cowboy" Dykes, 64, of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, formerly of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Ochsner Hospital in Kenner, Louisiana. He was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Maxwell K. and Genevieve Veek Dykes. He worked as a logistics technician for the United States Army Cadet Command. Craig was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6357 and was a 4th Degree "Sir Knight". He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of American Legion Post 329 in Belle Chasse. Craig was preceded in death by his father, Maxwell K. Dykes, his mother, Genevieve V. Dykes, two sisters, Laura Helen Dykes and Gwennyth Avonne Dykes; and a very special great nephew Kyle Wassman. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Jan Perez, of Poinciana, Florida, two sons, Nicholas Younger Dykes of Oviedo, Florida and Kenneth Jordan Dykes of Belle Chasse, two double first cousins, Judith Leah Hulsey of Ponchatoula, LA and Catherine Ann Reed of Independence, LA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins scattered across these United States of America. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 Hwy 23, Belle Chasse, LA on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11am.
