Kathi Ellen Callahan

October 3, 1959 — August 11, 2025

Gretna, LA

Kathi Ellen Callahan, was born in Port Angeles, Washington on October 3, 1959 and entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 11, 2025 at the age of 65 in the arms of her loving husband.

Kathi is the beloved wife of 35 years to David Richert Callahan. She is the daughter to the late Everett Good and the late Velma Good. Kathi is survived by sisters Darlene and Lori, several brother and sister in-laws, and scores of nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much.

Kathi was a successful small business owner in Port Angeles, WA for many years, but was most proud of her role as a military spouse and a highly active and staunch advocate for military families and charities. For several years she co-chaired the popular charity, Operation Free Ballgown. Over the years she took on leadership roles in several military spouse organizations across many duty stations. In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, Kathi was responsible bringing in the USO mobile canteen, and worked tirelessly for weeks amidst the devastated areas to bring relief to service members involved in the response. She was also active in advocacy and support for ovarian cancer awareness and research.

Later in life, she achieved her dream of becoming a professional actress, landing several small roles on TV programs and a major motion picture. Kathi was a kind, loving, and generous friend to many, and is remembered for her “heart of gold.”

Celebrations of life will be held in New Orleans and Sequim, WA, her final resting place. Location, date/times will be announced at a later date.
