June Lucy Yuratich Perlander passed away on July 22, 2026 at The Sanctuary at Passages Hospice in New Orleans. June was one of four daughters born to Emile and Rose Yuratich in Buras, Louisiana. She was the loyal wife of Gasper Luke Perlander for 57 years who preceded her in death, and the most loving and devoted mother to her five children: John Anthony Perlander, Joseph Matthew Perlander (Fonda), Jamey Perlander LeJeune (Carl), Judi Ann Perlander and Jason Paul Perlander. June was born on June 9, 1937, and resided in Buras most of her life except when hurricane Katrina had them relocate to Ponchatoula, Louisiana for seven years but eventually returning home to Belle Chasse in Plaquemines Parish. June’s main focus in life was raising her five children along with showering her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with much love. She enjoyed crafting – lovingly making treasured Christmas ornaments and other items for her family, tole painting, quilting, sewing and birdwatching. June’s green thumb was evident in the beautiful gardens she had, and her decorating skills created a lovely, inviting interior that her family was so proud to call home. She had a voracious appetite for books and enjoyed good classic movies. As a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Harbor Catholic church in Buras, she volunteered with Caring Hands and later became a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Belle Chasse. June is survived by her five children as well as nine grandchildren: Anson Perlander, Randi Pizani (Stuart), Heather Prima (Russell), Andre Perlander (Cori), Logan LeJeune (Maegan), Victoria LeJeune, Cullen LeJeune (Hunter), Chelsea Perlander-Cook (fiancée Brice), Sophia Yanker (Max) and eleven great grandchildren: Mackenzie (Jason), Madison, Gabby, Toby, Trynitte, Mia, Ali, Luci, Joseph, Josephine June and Lucy June. She adored them all. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Yuratich and her brother-in-law, Mike Clayton. Her parents, Emile and Rose preceded her in death as well as her sisters and brother-in-law: Sylvia McNabb, Emily Clayton and Glynn McNabb, Jr. along with her precious great-grandson, Luke Raymond Perlander and her beloved canine companion, Footie. The family would like to thank Sheila “Mumsy” Cognevich for continuing to bring communion to our mother on Sundays once homebound, as well as The Sanctuary at Passages Hospice for their compassionate care. God’s gift to us – our Mama. We will always love and remember you fondly.
