Julia A. Galaviz

Julia A. Galaviz passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026 at the age of 73. Beloved wife of the late Socorro J. Galaviz for 54 years. Beloved mother of Marcus Galaviz (Michelle), Manuel Galaviz (Mandy), and Amanda Gauthreaux (Chase). Daughter of the late Evangelina Gonzalez Aponte and Ernesto Aponte. Sister of Mario Cordova (Daphne), Ernesto Aponte (Lyleana) and the late Evelyn Valdez (Antonio). Grandmother of Robin Galaviz, Victoria Quintana (Hernann), Dominick Galaviz, Curtis Blum (Courteney), Cheyenna Blum, Marshall Galaviz, Marc Galaviz, Kross Galaviz, Chloe Galaviz, Caden Galaviz, and Colt Gauthreaux. Also survived by 12 great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was employed by USF&G and Ochsner. She enjoyed crocheting, watching sports and traveling. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 11am.
