Joy Marie Tate Purcell

Joy Marie Tate Purcell of Avondale, LA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. She was born on January 10, 1933 in Picayune, MS. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Purcell, both parents, Carrie Landrum Tate and Monroe Tate, eleven brothers and sisters, step-daughter, Patricia Purcell, sons, Raymond Brewer, Larry Brewer, and daughter, Cathy Brewer (John Kaltsukis). She is also survived by stepdaughter, Charlene Hopton ( L.R. Dick), daughters, Pamela Julian (Mike), Gina Mays (Bobby), sons Rodney Brewer and Kevin Purcell (Theresa) along with 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Avondale. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at First Baptist Church of Avondale, 360 S. Jaime Blvd., Avondale, LA, 70094 on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 12 noon. Visitation will be held at the church Monday morning from 10am until 12 noon. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
