Josephine Montana Mudge

Josephine Montana Mudge peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the age of 100. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Steven Mudge, Sr. Daughter of the late Anthony Montana and Rose Di Franco Montana. Loving and devoted mother of Steven Mudge, Jr., Mike Mudge, Sr. (Barbara), George Mudge, Pam Mudge, Anthony Mudge, Sr. (Gwendolyn), Richard “Dickey” Mudge (Audrey), Edith M. Freeney, John “J.P.” Mudge (Susan) and the late Tana Robinson (Survived by John). Josephine is grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 1 late grandchild. She is also survived by 37 great grandchildren. Josephine was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and resided in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Garden Club, a Cub Scout Leader and a Real Estate Agent. She was employed as a Journalist with the Plaquemines Parish Gazette for 6 years. She was well known for her numerous wedding cakes she made throughout her years. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 Belle Chasse Highway, Belle Chasse, Louisiana on Thursday, October 1, 2026, beginning at 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Thursday at 11AM. Interment will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery.
