Joseph Simoneaux

Joseph Simoneaux passed away peacefully at the age of 84. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, love, hard work, laughter, and friendships that will be cherished by all who knew him. Joseph was the loving husband of Carol Goodman Simoneaux. He was a devoted father to Beth Guidry and her husband, Beau; Gina Rivet and her husband, Joe; Brent St. Amant and his wife, Sissy; and Denny St. Amant and his wife, Lisa. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Albert Simoneaux; his mother, Bertha Jenkins; his brothers, Albert Simoneaux Jr. and William Lee Simoneaux; and his sisters, Silvia Champagne, Wilton Matthews, Jessy Matthews, Lucille Matthews, and Cynthia Matthews. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Matthews, and his two best friends, Ken Childs and Sal St. Phillip. Joseph was a hardworking man who took pride in everything he did. During his career, he worked for 7-Up for 30 years, owned an air-conditioning company and worked at Witco. Joseph was a man who truly enjoyed the simple things in life, especially spending time outdoors. He loved duck hunting, deer hunting, and fishing. Many of his happiest moments were spent at the camp on the water, or outdoors with family and friends, making memories and enjoying the peace and beauty of nature and sharing those experiences with family and friends. He was blessed with many good friends throughout his life. His kindness, humor, stories, and friendship will be deeply missed. Joseph lived 84 meaningful years, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, hard work, and countless memories. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and all the people whose lives he touched. May he rest peacefully, forever remembered and deeply loved.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., on Saturday, September 26, 2026, beginning at 11:30AM until 1:30PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:30PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, Louisiana.
