Joseph Arthur Palmer

July 13, 1945 — July 5, 2023

Joseph “Joe” Palmer was born in New Orleans, LA on July 13, 1945 to Joseph L. Palmer and Myrtle L. Palmer who predeceased him. He passed away on July 5, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cathy Palmer; his children Dean Palmer and Paula Dejean (Mike); his grandchildren, Hope Palmer, (Casey) Dustin Palmer, Brooke Dejean and Brock Dejean (Laina); his great grandchildren Wynter, Willow, Wyatt, Rori, Kohen, Stella and Jett. He is also survived by his siblings Ann (Edward) Lassus, Carol Carlile, Albert (Barbara) Palmer and Geraldine (William) Boyle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Seventh Day Adventist Church Family and many friends.

He worked for Texaco Oil Company for 29 years. He was a Realtor for some years and then retired to enjoy his family and his life. He loved sports of all kind, and was very competitive when he participated in them. He always had a smile on his face when you would see him no matter where he was.

Most of all Joe was a man of GOD and had the strongest faith in his Lord and Savior. He was devoted to his Church and church family. He did for others unconditionally on a daily basis and never put himself first. For him it was always about what he could do for you. He will be deeply missed. This is not goodbye it is until we meet again.

His services will take place starting at 9:30AM until 12PM on Monday, July 10, 2023 at the Marrero Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3104 Mary Drive, Marrero, LA. Followed by the service starting at 12PM. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave., in Gretna, LA.
