Joseph Calvin Ockman, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the age of 100. He is preceded in death by his first wife Cecile Becnel Castleman and his second beloved wife, Dussie Levron Kinler Ockman; sons, Ralph Ockman and Dick Ockman; great grand- daughters, Hope and Love Kinler; parents, William Joseph Ockman and Josephine Brock Ockman; siblings, Edward Ockman and Inez Ockman Marse. He is devoted father of Barbara O. Julius (Jack), Calvin Ockman (Patricia), Kenneth Ockman (Maliwan), Sheila O. Babin (Paul), Larry Kinler (Patricia), Leonard Kinler (Juanita), and Molly K. Phillips. He is grandfather of grandchildren, Joseph Julius III (Michelle), Robin Nye (David), Troy Julius (Nopparat), Dean Ockman (DeeDee), Duane Ockman, Jasmine Ockman, Kerrie Sessions (Steve), Dick Ockman Jr. (April), Melissa Davis (Dave), Amber Gamber (Ryan), Richelle Lemoine (Alva), Pamela Ramsey (Danny), Byron Kinler (Kelly), Kimberly Breaux (Troy), Michelle Ryals (Jay), Nicole Caulfield (Jules), Amanda Latonis (Matthew), Carly Phillips. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and great great- grandchildren; brother, William Ockman (Hazel), nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He was a former employee of Avondale Industries, Celotex Industries and was retired from Jack Julius Construction. Other than his family, his passions were gardening, fishing, and watching baseball on TV. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 PM from the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA.
