Obituary

Joseph Lawrence Leleux passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born in Abbeville, Louisiana, on August 11, 1939 to the late Edolie and Clophe Leleux.

He is the husband of the late Matilde Leleux; the father of Keith Leleux (Renee), John Douglas, Becky Jones (Woody), and Bridget Groves (Larry); the grandfather of Joseph "Hokie" Lawrence Laleux II, Jarod Leleux (Katie), Amy Ravia (Kevin), Ry Chapman, and Riley Maglalang; and great-grandfather of Charlotte Leleux, Oliver Leleux, Adalee Ravia, Avery Chapman, and Ella Chapman. He is also the brother of Dorothy Chauvin, Rodney Leleux, and Bill Leleux. He is survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.

Joseph was an electrician by trade in the Oil and Gas industry, working from childhood into his early 80's.

Joseph posessed a very strong work ethic, instilling the value of hard work in every one of his children and grandchildren. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and was a Mason for over 50 years. He belonged to Live Oak Lodge, #346 in Lake Arthur, Louisiana.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the outstanding care provided by Heart of Hospice, especially his nurse Bridget.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at MOTHE Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, Louisiana on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 1 p.m., with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, Louisiana 70056.
