John J. Thomas, proud member of the Army National Guard of Louisiana, founder of J.T.’s A/C & Heat and lifelong resident of Avondale, Louisiana passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the age of 81 years. He was a self-made man with unshakable determination and resilience. Beneath his toughness was a love for his family that guided everything he did. He will forever be remembered for his strength, his lessons, and his deep, quiet love.
He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy Upton Thomas, the love of his life for 60 years. Father of Angelia T. Grabert (Bubba). Grandfather of Matthew L. Grabert (Summer) and Mallory G. Freeman (Timi). Great Grandfather of Daxton Joseph and Declan Patrick Freeman. Son of the late Gloria Thomas Lee and stepfather Tremmel Lee. Brother of Eddie Lee, Alice Langloins and the late Peggy Raines, Sandra Sandoval, Janet (Bee) McGoey and Dennis Lee. Also, survived by a host of nieces and nephews. A heartfelt appreciation to his special friend, Bettie Lanning, whose love and support will always be remembered.
Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on, Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 11am. Interment Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning, September 3, 2025 from 9am until 11am.
