John Thomas Patai, Sr.

John Thomas Patai Sr., passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of 62 years to Carol Couvillion Patai. Loving father of Jan Coleman (Kevin) and John “Tom” Patai (Sherry). Proud grandfather of Ethan (Vanessa Lucero) and Elliot. Brother of the late Frank H. Patai Jr. (Anneliese), Robert Patai (Ann), and Joan Corona (John). Son of the late Frank H. Patai, Sr. and Catherine North Patai. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

He graduated from Behrman High School, Class of 1962 in Algiers and later served his country in the Louisiana National Guard. He retired from Louisiana Gas Services / Atmos as personnel manager. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was also a private pilot and enjoyed flying and spending time with his fellow pilots.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Belle Chasse.
