John Douglas Jenkins, Sr., a native of Amite, LA and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA, died Friday, July 15, 2016 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Gloria Bourgeois Jenkins for 57 years. Loving father of Debra Hamdan (Zeke), Lori Taquino (Todd), John D. Jenkins, Jr., Rickey Jenkins and Darren Jenkins. Brother of Isabelle J. Sweeney. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a host of family and friends. Mr. Jenkins was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 6 PM until 9 PM and again Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 9 AM until 11 AM. The Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11 AM. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
