IN LOVING MEMORY OF JOHN S. CALDERONE
John Salvador Calderone, age 72, entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of those closest to him.
A native of Gretna, Louisiana, John later found his way to Grand Isle, where he built a life, raised his family, and spent many years working as a commercial fisherman. Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, he returned to his hometown, where he remained until his passing.
Outside of work, John enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially hunting, fishing and playing pool. In his later years, he developed a love for video games, which became another favorite pastime and source of comfort.
Although his final chapter was marked by difficult health challenges, John leaves behind cherished memories with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
He is survived by his three children, Misty Bradberry (Josh), Dustin Calderone (Telesa), and Colby Calderone (Hailey); his grandchildren, Jenna, Dyson, Rylan, and Coben, his sister, Carol Steel (Merrill); and his brother, Anthony “AJ” Calderone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Salvador John Calderone and Joan Burton Calderone.
In accordance with John’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the memories he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. May he find eternal peace in the presence of his Heavenly Father. Family and friends can view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com.
