Johanna "Jo" Mae Thibodeaux

Johanna (Jo) Mae Thibodeaux passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday morning, July 6, 2025. She was 88 years old, survived by her loving, devoted husband of 68 years, Gally Thibodeaux Jr. Loving mother of Penny (Gerald), Rickey (Penny), Wendy (Chuck). Grandmother to 7 grandchildren, Patricia, Justin (Britney), Matthew (Erin), Logan (Ken), Tyler (Amanda), Rickey Jr., and Meagin. Great-Grandmother to Joshua, Conner, Macie, Mikayela, Blaine, Paige, Parker, Ainslee, Shaelynn, Braelynn, and her social butterfly Annemarie. She was proceeded in death by her son Joey and one brother, Ewell Rousell Jr. Daughter of Ewell Roussell Sr. and Florance Roussell. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jo was born in Hester, LA and has been a resident of Westwego for 77 years. She was a devoted Catholic and a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Jo devoted her life to caring for and loving her family and always enjoyed good food and family time. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be forever missed by all. Jo’s family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the caring team of Passage Hospice. Relatives and friends of the family, the City of Westwego, Westwego Fire Department, Knights of Columbus Council #3091, and Knights of Columbus Assembly #2053, are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 146 Fourth Street, Westwego, La 70094 on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30am until 12pm. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue Gretna, La 70056.
