Joe "Pop" S. Dingler

Joe “Pop” Stanley Dingler was born in Maysville, OK on March 10, 1935, and passed away on Feb. 1, 2024 at the age of 88.  He was preceded in death: by his wife Gay Hamilton Dingler; parents James Thomas and Vera Ida Mae Patterson Dingler; brothers James Lymon Dingler and John Elton Dingler; and grandchildren Christopher “Ryan” Dingler and Ashli Michele Dingler.  Father of Michael Joe Dingler (Kim), Michelle Joan Dingler (Ricky) and Mark Hamilton Dingler (Dawn). Beloved grandfather of Micah Joe Dingler, Nicholas Morel (Christy), Erik Ricks (Aimee), Brianna Tompkins (Brent), Ethan Ricks (Bayli), Emery Ricks, Beth Dingler, Brett Dingler (Mallory), and Macie Mason. Great grandfather of: Ethan Jr., Sophie, Sadie, and Scarlett Ricks; Benjamin, Everett, and Olivia Tompkins; and Beau Joseph Dingler; Paxton Morel, Savannah, Carlee, and Elizabeth Kaiser; and Jeremiah and Tatum Barrois.

Joe was a resident of Plaquemines Parish for the past 58 years. He worked for Warren Petroleum for over 40 years, was a volunteer fireman in Buras and served as President of the fire department. He was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Gretna. He also enjoyed fishing. His greatest pleasure was time spent with family.  Pop loved watching all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren play sports from 1966 to 2023. This was his greatest joy!

Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Salem Lutheran Church, 418 4th Street, Gretna, Louisiana on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 9:30AM until 11AM.   Funeral Services will take place at Salem Lutheran Church on Monday at 11AM.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
