Joan Balakier Guidry entered her new life at the age of 69 on Friday, December 2, 2016. She was loving and devoted to her husband Joseph Guidry, Jr. and two sons Joseph Guidry III and Jon J. Guidry. Joanie was born on January 4, 1947 to the late John and Gertrude Balakier. Her parents died early in Joanie's life. The late Bert and Dorothy Dauenhauer became her adopted parents. Joanie was the sister of Denise (Missy) Jones, the late Donald Dauenhauer, and David Dauenhauer; grandmother of Joseph Michael Guidry, Dalton Guidry, Adrian Guidry, Dawson Guidry, Ty Guidry, Stefani Monfra, Jillian Monfra, and Kaytlyn Amarena. Joanie doubled as an Executive Administrative Assistant representing two Philadelphia based companies; a 30 year old nurse staffing agency, Skilled Nursing, Inc., and CarePartners Plus, a 10 year old health care company that invented an electronic process for people to manage their health care. Joanie enjoyed doing her job and that was attested to by the thousands of people she interacted with over the course of her career. So often without solicitation people expressed what a joy it was doing business with her. When learning about her passing the Chairman of CarePartners Plus Dr. Phil Gerbino Ph.D said Joanie was a joy professionally, totally competent, dedicated to CPP and SNI, its leadership and a fighter to the last breath. She leaves us friendship, love and the strength of her faith and values. She remains an example to us all. Joanie touched the hearts of many. A list of names would fill this notice.
