Joan Folse

Joan Ann Haas Folse, of Luling, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026 , at Ashton Manor Assisted Living and Memory Care at the age of 82 Born February 19, 1944, Joan was from Gretna, Louisiana, and lived for over 50 years in Luling. Joan was a loving wife and mother. She was a homemaker for a number of years before returning to work and retiring from Taft Carbide Federal Credit Union. A practicing Catholic, in her younger days she spent many hours volunteering at St. Anthony Church in Luling. She was an active member of the Busy Bees. Joan and Lloyd loved to travel. Even though they went out of the country several times, they always went back and forth to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Those who knew Joan will always remember her beautiful smile, her kindness and gentle heart. She lived her faith every day through prayer, kindness and generosity. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Folse; her parents, John and Annette Haas; her sisters, Dolores Haas Gonzales and Doris Haas Lowe; her brothers, John Haas Jr. and Russell Haas; and her brothers-in-law, Whitney Gonzales, Gerald Lowe, and Kenneth Eckel. She is survived by her daughter, Stacie Lynne Folse Keller, and son-in-law, Michael Keller; her brother, Alvin Haas, and sister-in-law, Verline; her sister, Elaine Haas Eckel; and several nieces and nephews on both her side and her husband's side. Though she never had grandchildren, she loved her grand-dogs, Candie, Krissie, Katie Jo, and Bailee. The family wishes to express their gratitude and thankfulness to Joan's caretakers at Ashton Manor for their care and compassion. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Holy Family Catholic Church, 155 Holy Family Lane, Luling, Louisiana on Thursday, November 5, 2026, beginning at 10AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday at 11AM. Interment will be in McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.
