Jimmie J. Breaux, 72, died December 17, 2023. Born in New Orleans, Mr. Breaux was a native of Westwego and lived in Kentwood for the past 16 years.
Mr. Breaux was a welder/ship fitter at Avondale Shipyard for 30 plus years until he retired. He loved raising animals of all kinds, but especially cows and pigs. He loved fishing with his grandchildren and enjoyed eating boiled seafood every chance he had.
Mr. Breaux is preceded in death by his parents Gracien and Mary Baudoin Breaux, a daughter, Raimy Elizabeth Breaux and a sister, Carol Breaux Judd.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Griffin Breaux, a daughter, Amy Breaux Paz (David), and her children Nicholas Curren (Taylor) and Christopher Paz. He enjoyed his time with his five Great-Grandchildren Madelynn, Gracyn, Aiden, Ava, and Alexandra. And loved his brothers and sisters, Larry Breaux, Leo Breaux, Grace Benoit, Loretta Chaisson and Verna Boudreaux.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, December 20th at 9:30 A.M. at Mothe Funeral Home in Marrero, 7040 Lapalco Blvd. A Mass will be celebrated in the chapel with interment to follow at St Mary’s Cemetery in Raceland. Arrangements by Mothe Funeral Homes.
