Jena Vogt, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 4, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and a family who meant everything to her.
Born on February 7, 1968, A Belle Chasse native, Jena lived a life centered around the people she loved most.
She was the devoted wife of Michael Vogt. For 41 years, they shared a beautiful and inseparable life. Together, they built a 36 year marriage filled with love, laughter, friendship, and countless cherished memories. Their devotion to one another was a true testament to a lifelong love that will never be forgotten.
Jena devoted her life to her daughters, Ashlie and Devin Ann, making sure they were loved, happy, and cared for. Being their mom was the greatest joys of her life, and she was always there to support them, protect them, and help them through every season of life. Her daughters are her world, and the love she poured into them will live on through them forever.
Jena’s greatest legacy is the love she poured into her family. She leaves behind her loving husband Micheal Vogt, her daughters, Ashlie Bourgeois (Devin Bourgeois) and Devin Ann Thompson (Donnie Thompson), and her beloved grandchildren, Bella, DJ, and Dean. Her father Russell Hoots, brother Kevin Hoots (Raynelle Hoots) nieces Kristiana, Savana, and nephew Kadin. Brother in law Tony Vogt Jr. (Brenda Vogt) niece Anna, late nephew Spencer. Mother in law Ruth Vogt and late father in law Anthony Vogt.
Jena’s family was truly her world. She loved deeply, cared fiercely, and found meaning in the everyday moments shared with her family. Whether it was a family gathering, a conversation, a laugh, or simply being together, those moments were what made her happiest.
Jena also had an adventurous spirit. She carried a sense of wonder and curiosity that made her dream of all the places she would one day go and all the memories she would make along the way.
Jena was preceded in death by her beloved mother Barbara Hoots, who was one of the most important people in her life and, in Jena’s words and heart, her absolute favorite person. Their bond was incredibly special, and the love Jena carried for her mother never faded. We can only imagine the comfort of knowing that they are together again.
Her family was her home, her greatest adventure, and her greatest love.
Jena will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the stories told, the laughter shared, the family she cherished, and every road still left to travel.
