Jemi Lynne Carlone of Belle Chasse, Louisiana passed peacefully on the morning of Friday, May 16th, 2025 at 55 years of age, surrounded by her family.
Jemi is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years, Walt Carlone. She has two daughters, Kaylee & Kendall Carlone. She is survived by her mother, Nancy LaHaye, and preceded in death by her father, James LaHaye. She was very close to her cousins and her sister-in-law.
From her earliest days, Jemi has touched countless lives — shaping minds, lifting spirits, and nurturing hearts. Her legacy remains within the sport of softball and within the education system, two things she loved dearly. She attended Belle Chasse High School, where she began her career as a renowned fast-pitcher and was honored to have her number retired. Ultimately, she earned a full scholarship to play at Northwestern State University, where she still holds a record for most innings pitched in a single game. Jemi's heart eventually led her back to her alma mater, Belle Chasse High School, where her light continued to shine as an educator and as a coach. She served over 30 years as an educator, with her crowning achievement becoming principal of BCHS. She led her school with wisdom, compassion, and strength, and was proud to be a pioneer in education statewide as President of the Louisiana Association of Principals. Her favorite passion by far was to travel and see the world. Above all, she loved her family, and was proud to be a wife, mother, and daughter.
