Jeannette Demandre Reardon

April 6, 1938 — January 23, 2024

Jeannette Demandre Reardon was called to her eternal rest on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the age of 85.  She was born in New Orleans, LA on April 06, 1938.  She was a lifelong resident of Belle Chasse, LA and a devout woman of God.

She was the beloved wife to the late James Ralph Reardon, Sr. for 52 years.  Jeannette was a devoted catholic woman who wanted to raise a large family with her beloved husband.  Jeannette lived only steps away from her parents and siblings on Demandre Street which allowed Jeannette to be surrounded by family.  God blessed Jeannette and Ralph with five sweet girls and one amazing son.  Jeannette was a loving daughter to her parents, Albin Demandre, Sr. and Vera Ackerhans Demandre.  Jeannette had many struggles and a very difficult battle with her health from early adulthood which she battled until her last breath.  Her unwavering faith in God and family was deeply rooted in Jeannette’s beliefs.

She was a loving, caring and gentle mother to the late Julia Ann Martin, the late James Ralph “Jimmy” Reardon, Jr. and the family’s little angel Mary Reardon; survived by her three loving daughters June Reardon, Jacqueline “Jackie” Curtis, and JoAnn Casey; son-in-laws Charles Curtis, Harry Casey, and the late Scott Martin.

Throughout her life, Jeannette was blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren include Jared Martin and his wife Danielle Magne Martin, Mitchell Casey and his wife Brooke Casey, Katelyn Casey, and the late Jason Martin. She was blessed with the sweetest great-grandchildren Julia Martin, Chalin Martin, Everett Martin, Caroline Casey, and the late Jason Scott Martin.

Jeannette was the sister to the late Albin Demandre, Jr. (wife Lucille) and the late Barbara Hoots (husband Russell).

Jeannette was an amazing cook, enjoyed country music, and loved spending time with her friends and family.  Jeannette had a beautiful smile that will be forever remembered.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11AM in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, in Harvey. Visitation will begin at 10AM. Interment will follow immediately after mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Belle Chasse, LA.

The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the staff of the Central Guest House and to Life Source Hospice for the loving care that they provided during Jeannette’s long term health battles.

Jeannette’s pain is now over as she enters heaven’s gates.  Jeannette will be missed by all who loved her.  She is now an angel that will forever watch over her loved ones.
