Janet Harvey Watts

Janet Harvey Watts passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on March 31, 2022, at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Paul K Watts and her parents Merlin Lester Harvey and Emelda McCrossen Harvey. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Jennifer Cochran (Frankie), Stefanie Ribando (Thomas), Melissa DiFranco (Cliff) and 7 grandchildren, Brooke Spizale, Hunter Cosse, Matas Cosse, Jake Cosse, Grace DiFranco, Ava DiFranco, Savannah Trosclair (Cullen) as well as 1 great grandchild Nova Trosclair. She is also survived by 1 sister, Kathy Harvey Spears (Rodney) and Godmother to Shannon Spears Howard. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and her caregiver Wendy Hull Gurley. She was a former resident of Terrytown and current resident of Marrero for the past 36 years. She was born on June 26, 1942, in New Orleans, LA and was raised in Algiers, LA. Janet’s passion was her children and grandchildren and loved having them over for family gatherings. A Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 10-11am for family and from 11am-1pm for friends at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd in Marrero. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org ) and the American Cancer Society ( www.cancer.org ).
