Janet Legnon Ricouard peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the age of 81. Janet is the daughter of the late Ledie Levron and Sidney Legnon. She is the last of 8 children. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd and Leroy Legnon; her sisters, Lillian Gammon, Lorraine Walsh, Loys Hilgert, Loretta Kuczynski and Elaine Legnon Loycano. She is married to her beloved, loving and devoted husband, Anthony “Tony” Ricouard for 62 years. She is also survived by her children, Stephen A. Ricouard (Erin), David A. Ricouard (Tammy), Robert D. Ricouard, James M. Ricouard, Melanie R. Hotop (John) and Mary R. Flood (Jerry); 13 Grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Janet has been a member of St. Cletus Catholic Church since the Conception of the Parish. She was Co-Captain of a St. Cletus fair booth for 23 years. She was a Religion Teacher for the CCD Program for 17 years and also taught Religion at St. Cletus School. She also worked in the CCD Program at Christ the King for 17 years. She taught Religion at St. Andrew the Apostle School in Algiers for 6 years. Janet was a Minister of Communion in her church for many years. She also brought Communion to the sick at Meadowcrest Hospital for about 7 years. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 3600 Claire Avenue, Gretna, LA on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 11AM until 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cletus Catholic Church on Thursday at 12 Noon followed by interment in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
