James Edward Hennessey passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:30am with his devoted wife of thirty years, Sharon Buras Hennessey, at his side. He was born on January 3, 1932 in West Palm Beach, FL. Loving father of Patrick A. Hennessey (Wendy), Leanne Hennessey Roulson (Chris) and step-father of Ricci Broussard Hebert (Craig). Proud grandfather of Andrew, Ethan, Colin and Claire Hennessey, Tabor and Hazel Roulson, and "Papa" to Julianne and Jacques Hebert. Brother of Rita Tripp Nickel (Bob) and the late Milton A. Hennessey (Jayne). Survived by his special and loving nephews, Mark and Herb Hennessey. Brother-in-law of Rocky Buras (Sherry). Preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Faye Register Hennessey. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Jim attained the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force and was a test pilot during the Korean Conflict. He later became a Developer and Builder of residential and commercial real estate throughout the metro New Orleans area for over 50 years. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and a Sponsor of the NRA. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. His greatest goal was his generous heart for his family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 1pm.
