James “Jimmy” Richard Favre SR, 65, of New Orleans, LA, passed away on August 2nd, 2026. A life-long resident of New Orleans, Jimmy was born January 12, 1961. He attended St. Bernard High School where he excelled at baseball. Following high school, he served proudly in the United States Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic. Upon completion of his military service, he entered the oil field alongside his father, EJ Favre, working on rigs throughout the Gulf of Mexico and around the world, establishing himself amongst the best in his field. Throughout his life, Jimmy’s passions were music, cooking, and a good drink - something he shared with everyone and anyone, any chance he got. His greatest joy was his family, particularly his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores (2007) and father, EJ (2020). He is survived by his children: James Jr, Jennifer (Greg), Jessica (Katie), and Natalie (Ryan); his grandchildren Grace and Evan; and his siblings, Nancy (Pat), Terrie, and Sandy (Robby), as well as a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends far and wide. In lieu of funeral services, a celebration of life will be held in his honor at Spanky’s Sports Bar in Harvey (1720 Gretna Blvd, Harvey, LA 70058) on Saturday August 8, 2026 from 12 to 3 PM.
