Jacquelyn Faye Short Hubert passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17th, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, on December 6th, 1936, to Edith and Charles Short, Sr.
She is the wife of the late Edward Leo Hubert; the mother of Robin Gayle Palmer (the late John), and the late David Raymond Guillotte (Ruby); the grandmother of Mallory Lynn Haydel (Kevin), Jennifer Lynn Guillotte, Morgan Faye Barback (David), and Raymond Joseph Guillotte; and great-grandmother of Leslie Faye Barback and Beau Benjamin Barback. She is also survived by her stepchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
Jacquelyn was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She enjoyed spending time taking line dancing classes, going on cruises with her friends, and going out dancing with Ed. However, her true passion was spending time with her loving family and friends. Jacquelyn was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the outstanding care provided by Passages Hospice.
