Jacqueline (Jackie) Ida Lancon journeyed to heaven on October 29, 2021. She was 83 years old. A native of Algiers, she attended St. Joseph School and was a proud “Bee” of Martin Behrman High School. She was employed by Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, then Oakwood Mall until moving to Coloroado. There she worked at The Shops of Tabor Center in Denver. Her favorite pastime was exploring the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains. She returned to live in Gretna, then relocated to Gramercy to care for her mother while working for Billingsley & Associates. Eventually Jackie moved to Mississippi. When Lewy Body Dementia stole her ability to live alone and she moved to Katy, Texas where she was lovingly cared for by her family, she was the daughter of Kermit Joseph Lancon and Verlean Hebert Lancon. Jackie leaves her legacy of love to her six children, Kermit Sr. (Tammy) Ortolano, Anna Ortolano, Lea (Jim) Sullivan, Gina (Geoff) Stephens, Annette (Walter) Eccles, and Yvette (Roger) Burrows. Her four stepchildren Linda (Tommy) Tillis, Annette (Jerry) Couch, Bobby Guillot, and Lisa (Chris) Berthelot. Her 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, Kermit Jr. (Schantelle) Alisha, Addison and Kermit III Ortolano, Kris Ortolano, Amanda (Theo) and Beaux Fisher, Stephen and William Sullivan, April (Nick) and Zac Cowan, Jeremiah (April) Alyssa, Emily, and Jeremiah Nutt Jr., Kelly and Katy Stephens, Brooke and Tyler Eccles, and Chaz Burrows. She is also survived by her sister, Kim Detillier, of Grammercy. She loved her children and grandchildren immensely as she did the mountains of Colorado and California, playing bingo and cards, and fishing at Camp Little Owl. She will forever be cherished for being our Mama, our Grannie, our Gigi, our friend, our confidant and our sanctuary. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway Harvey, La. on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 10 am to 1pm. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home Chapel at 1pm. Interment will immediately follow in McDonough Cemetery 520 Hancock St Gretna, La.
