Irene P. Ehret

Irene Pitre Ehret, a devoted wife, loving mother and cherished friend passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025 at the age of 72.

Born on August 24, 1952 in Thibodeaux, LA, Irene dedicated her life to her family. As a stay-at-home mom, she poured her heart into raising her children, creating a warm and nurturing home where love, laughter, and values were passed down through generations. She had a gift for making everyone feel special and seen, whether through her comforting presence, thoughtful words, or home-cooked meals made with love.

For over 50 years, she shared a beautiful marriage with her beloved husband, James S. Ehret, Sr. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and enduring partnership- a shining example to all who knew them.

Irene is survived by loving husband, James S. Ehret Sr; her children James S. Ehret Jr. (Shannon) and Jonathan P. Ehret (Holly); her grandchildren Emily, Evan, Riley and Carter; her Brother Freddie Rink (Late Cheryl); Sister in laws Judy Ehret, Jeannette Cantin (Late Richard), Susan “Jaye” Barber (Gene); and many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Antoinette Benoit and Ernest Pitre, Sisters Enola Holder, Viola “Anne” Baril, and Debra Ardoin.

Some of her favorite past times were playing darts, crocheting, cooking, playing cards, fishing and going to the Casino. Her legacy lives on in the kindness she showed, the values she instilled, and the memories she created with those lucky enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pulse Hospice for their love, compassion and assistance with her care.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11AM on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, in Marrero, LA. Visitation will be from 8:30am – 11:30am.
