Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Ida Lee Polk, who departed this life on October 23, 2025, in Marrero, Louisiana, after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the family she loved dearly.
Deuteronomy 31:6- “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you”
Ida Lee Polk was born on February 8, 1949, in Shubuta, Mississippi, to the late Mr. Willie and Mrs. Lois Polk. She leaves behind to cherish her memories three children, Carolyn Polk, Alfred White (wife- Jasmine), and Chilita White (husband- Zachary), seven grandchildren Christopher,Jayden, Anyah, Julian, Aaliyah, Sanaa and Addilyn White. Her siblings Irene Polk, Pauline Badie, Willie Polk, Jr. (wife- Barbara), John West Polk (wife- Susie Mae), and James Polk. She is preceded in death by three siblings, Ollie Mae Carter, Oliver Paul Polk, and Eddie Polk. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11 AM. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until service time. Cremation will follow.
