Howard Taylor Sr.

Howard Taylor Sr., a beloved figure in his community, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, in Gretna, Louisiana. Born on February 2, 1954, in New Orleans, Howard dedicated over twenty years to serving the state, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his career and the people around him.

Howard was known for his generosity and kind spirit. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was described as a man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His considerate nature made a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

In his personal life, Howard had a passion for fishing and woodworking, activities that brought him joy and relaxation. However, nothing meant more to him than spending quality time with his family. Howard treasured every moment with his loved ones, creating cherished memories that will be carried on by those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his sons, Howard Taylor Jr. and his wife Jessica, and William "Bill" Huff and his wife Kelley. Howard also leaves behind six grandchildren: Brenda West, Jordon Fontenot, Heather Taylor, Kimberly Fletcher, Abigail Huff, and Ava Huff. He was a proud grandfather to five great-grandchildren: Mitchell Fletcher, Zoey Fletcher, Allie Fontenot, Braylynn Montalvo, and Lucas Cicotte. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Gerald Taylor.

Howard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Fabian Taylor, as well as his parents, Robert and Josie Taylor. His legacy will also be remembered by his siblings, Agnes Elliott, Robert Taylor Jr., Julia Stafford, Carter Taylor, and Donald Taylor, all of whom have now passed.

Howard Taylor Sr. will be lovingly remembered as a devoted family man, a generous friend, and a respected member of his community. His spirit and kindness will continue to inspire those who had the honor of knowing him
