Herman Golden III

Herman Golden III (Vela), 50, of Port Sulphur, LA, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Herman was a wonderful husband, a loving father, a caring son, a brother and a man whose greatest joy in life was his family. He loved deeply and showed it every day through his presence, his support, and the way he cared for those closest to him.

Known for his generous spirit, Herman was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it was family, friends, or even a stranger in need, he gave without hesitation. His kindness and selflessness touched many lives and will never be forgotten. Whether through quiet moments at home or time spent with family and friends, he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Bobbi; his children, Curt and Bevan, who were his pride and joy; his mother, May Vela; and his sisters, Melissa, Julia (Jody), Jshonda (LJ), Vendelin and Ana. He is also survived by his loyal companion, his dog, Bleu, who rarely left his side. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Peter Vela, who welcomed him into eternal rest.

Herman will be remembered for his big heart, his willingness to help others, and the love he poured into his family. His legacy will live on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 1:30pm at Mothe Funeral Homes, 2100 Westbank Expy. Harvey, LA 70058. Visitation will be from 11:30am to 1:30pm for those who wish to honor and celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made directly to his family.
