Hendrix Joseph "Eppie" Bourgeois Jr.

Hendrix Joseph "Eppie" Bourgeois, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on December 9, 2017. He was 85 years of age. Beloved husband of Joyclen Schaubhut Bourgeois for 59 years. Father of Andre Paul Bourgeois and GiGi Paulette Bourgeois Calatyud. Grandfather of Aidan and Adelaide Calatyud. Father-in-law of Joseph Calatyud. Son of the late Hendrix J. Bourgeois, Sr. and the late Bertha Duhe Bourgeois. Beloved brother of Jacqueline B. Morias, Sandra B. Vegas, William Bourgeois, and Dewey Bourgeois and the late Ray and Baron Bourgeois. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a native of Westwego and was a resident of Algiers for the past 59 years. He graduated from Westwego High School and Loyola University. He was an avid runner and participated in many races and marathons throughout the Greater New Orleans area. He was the founder of the "Best Bank Track Club". He retired from Westbank Metals and continued working with scrap metal for many years post retirement. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 400 Verret St, Algiers, LA on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11am. Visitation will be held at the church from 9am until 11am. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
