Harold Louis "Pete" Power Jr.

Harold Louis “Pete” Power Jr., life-long resident of Algiers, Louisiana, passed away at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve, Louisiana on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lenora Hymel Power and his parents, Harold Louis Power Sr. and Hilda Coyne Power. Harold is loving brother of Hilda Power McCoy. He is brother-in-law of Charles A. Hymel (Joyce) and Theresa H. VanderVlugt. He is devoted uncle of June McCoy Thornton (Tom) and Robert McCoy (Claire). Harold was a retired engineer with the sewage and water board of New Orleans and a WWII Navy Veteran who served aboard the USS Iowa. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Wendesday, July 5, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA. Private family interment to follow at Lakelawn Park Cemetery.
