Gladys W. Delaune

Gladys W. DeLaune, a lifelong resident of Waggaman, LA peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the age 91. Beloved wife of the late Elton J. DeLaune, Sr. Daughter of the late Henry Whitney and Pauline Leche Whitney. Mother of Elton J. DeLaune, Jr. (Glenda), Eric P. DeLaune (Steven), Sue D. Amor (Rol Lyn White), Henry D. “Scooter” DeLaune (Roxanne) and Valla A. Galiano (James). Survived by 11 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. Gladys is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by 1 grandson and her siblings, the late Henry Whitney, Albert Whitney, Earnest Whitney, Rene Whitney, Harold N. Whitney, Sr., Ida Faucheaux, Milda Mire, Mildred Broadtman, and Emma Lois Zeringue. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Tara Amor Barker for her love and care given to Gladys. Gladys was a member of the Waggaman Golden Agers. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 10AM until 1:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30PM. Interment will be in Our Lady of the Angels Mausoleum, Waggaman, LA.
