Geraldine Currault Ryan

Geraldine Currault Ryan passed away peacefully on October 27, 2022 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late John Dennis Ryan by second marriage and the late Bernard Schmid by first marriage. Daughter of the late Cesla Pierce Currault and Nestor Lubin Currault Sr. Sister of the late Judge Nestor L. Currault Jr. (the late Dorothy “Dot”). Aunt of Beth Currault Rush (the late Gordon), Adrienne Currault Tate (John “Michael”), and Nestor L. “Jack” Currault III (Denise). She will be greatly missed by great-nieces, Margot Tauzier May (Bryan), Aimee Elizabeth Tauzier (Cory), and Christy Lee Cheeks along with many other loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and friends.

Geraldine was born and raised in Westwego, LA. She graduated from Westwego High School and from Soule’ Business College. She worked as an Executive Secretary for Southern Shellfish and later in facets of Jefferson Parish Government. In her later years, she moved to Slidell with her niece, Adrienne and her husband, Michael. Geraldine was a woman of distinction in her personal and professional life, well respected and well loved. She was a member of the Slidell Newcomer Club. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her caretaker, Amy Peterson.

Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 9am to 11am. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Westwego.
