Jerry passed away on August 5, 2023, at the age of 64 surrounded by his family and closest friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Tara Bourgeois Theriot. They were happily together for 32 years. He is also survived by his children: Heidi Mince (Paul), Chad Griffin (Jessica), Tiffany Kimball (Thomas), Jade Verrette (Dallas), and Jena Thomas (Kyle); his siblings: Steve Theriot (Gwen), Wayne Theriot (Phyllis), Sharon Macke (Charles), and James "Jim" Theriot (Hedy); his grandchildren: Jace, Nate, Brinley, Cade, Cohen, Kennedy, Madeline, Baby Verrette, and Baby Thomas. He is also survived by his in-laws, Reno and Steve Cambre. He is the godfather of Jenny Theriot Higgins, and uncle to several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his best friends Merlin Seminary and Shane McCormick, and his dearest (dog) Mia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Seraphin (ST) Theriot and Gaynelle Dunn Theriot, his grandmother, Rachel Barnes, and his father-in-law Victor J. Bourgeois Ill.
Jerry attended Shaw High School and graduated in 1977. He then worked for the Jefferson Parish School System as a school bus operator for 40 years, most of those years driving bus #424. He also worked for Val's Diving Service and Marque's Food; he was the first owner of The Cold Spot (snowball stand) and had JT's Lawn Service for a few years.
A funeral service will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd. Marrero, La on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 3:30pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave, Terrytown, La.
