Gerald "Moose" Joseph Bergeron Sr.

Gerald Joseph "Moose" Bergeron Sr. entered into the Gates of Heaven on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the age of 81. Husband of the late Cynthia Audrey Bergeron and son of the late Wiley Joseph "Black" Bergeron and Eunice Lopez Bergeron. Loving Father of Tricia Bergeron Favre (Norward) and Gerald Joseph "Moosie" Bergeron Jr. Beloved Paw to Victoria Elizabeth Favre (Jeremy) and Nathan William Favre. Brother to Lois Rodriguez (Wiley) and Gloria Plaisance (Roland). Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Gerald grew up in Marrero, LA and graduated From West Jefferson High School. Gerald served in the US Navy and then transferred to the US Army where he served in the 82nd Airborne Infantry Division. He was deeply proud to have served his country.

Gerald worked for the DOTD for 42 years and then worked for Volkert For 10 years. Gerald loved to hunt, fish and the outdoors.

The family would like to thank Total Home Health, Kelli and Ms. Jenny, Interim Healthcare for Hospice Services Cheri, De, Melissa and Derrick, Dr Jonathan D. Mizrahi, Nakia L. Brooks PA-C, and Dr. Jennifer L. Paruch for always treating Gerald with love and kindness. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 9:30 am at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, LA. A funeral service will start at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1255 Whitney Ave, Terrytown, LA. The family requests attendees to wear hunting and fishing clothing in honor of Gerald.
