George Edgerson, Jr.

George Edgerson Jr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on November 20, 1950, in New Orleans. George was a self-taught musician who mastered the art of the bass guitar, leaving a legacy of music and passion.

He shared 55 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Myra Ann Vaughn Edgerson. Together, they built a family grounded in love, dedication, and faith.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. George and Dolly Reddick Edgerson, sister Audrey Edgerson John, nephew David Yost and his godmother Rosita Reddick. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Daphane Bailey (Tracey) and Travis Edgerson, his brother Raymond Edgerson, and his sister Blanche Edgerson.

He was a cherished grandfather to Tajalia Evans, Nicholas (Keiley) Bailey, and Chase Bailey. And his godchild Darnell Timothy Taylor. In addition, George leaves behind a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends (Malcolm Encalade and Jeffery Thompson) who will forever celebrate his life, tenacity, and legacy.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 11 AM. Interment McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until service.
