Genevieve “Jenny” Robicheaux Gulizo passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at the age of 89. She was born on March 8, 1931, to the late Lucy Badeaux Robicheaux and Joseph “Rube” Robicheaux. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Victor Gulizo, Sr. and son, Victor Gulizo, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters Sue Gulizo Floyd (Bobby), Jo Ann Gulizo Traina (J.C.), and daughter-in-law, Elaine Simoneaux Gulizo; 5 grandchildren, Victoria Gulizo Helton, Jennifer Floyd Gautro (Corey), Tina Gulizo, J.C. Traina, Jr., Jessica Traina; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ella and Grayson Gautro. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.
Jenny was a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. She was one of the first Woman Directors of Pard Playground and coached numerous softball teams to victories. She was hair dresser for over 40 years, and she worked out of a salon in her home. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, and playing cards. Most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
We would like to thank Trameka “MeMe” Leblanc, her long time friend and assistant, for taking such good care of her over the years whenever needed. We would also like to thank the staff and nurses at St. Luke’s Living Facility for their care for the last 2 months.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3520 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 12 p.m.
Visitation will be held at church From 10 AM until mass time. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jenny’s memory to a charity of your choice.
