Gene R. Spitelera, Sr.

Gene R. Spitelera, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the age of 78.  Beloved and loving husband of Barbara Picone Spitelera.  Son of the late Joseph Thomas Spitelera and Florence Ficaro Spitelera.  Devoted father of Gene R. Spitelera, Jr. (Penny) and Gina Benoit (Phil).  Loving Grandfather of Brett Benoit and Holden James Spitelera. Brother of Linda Spitelera, Dale Laib, Terry Spitelera and the late Joseph “Pee Wee” Spitelera, Jr.  Gene is also survived by his most beloved and awesome canine companion, Minnie “The Baby”.  Gene was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Gretna.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to any animal shelter.  Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 11AM until 1:30PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:30PM.  A private interment will be held at a later date.  Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com.
