Frank Macera Jr., a native of Gretna, LA and resident of Folsom, LA, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at MD Anderson Cancer center in Houston, TX.
Son of the late Frank Macera Sr. and Lucy Macera. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years Sharlene Jaeger Macera. Loving father of Marco Macera (Christine), Diana Macera, Michael Macera, Elizabeth Macera (Clifford), and Katherine Macera. Survived by grandchildren Ashton and Hudson Macera.
Survived by children of late Carol Dellorto; Patty Rudolph (Dwight), Frank Macera (Josephine), Debbie Taullie (Butch), and Ricci Macera (Karen), and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary Grace Orsag.
In his early career, Frank was a Conductor for Missouri Pacific Railroad for over 25 years. In 1996, he founded A-MED Ambulance Service, which grew from a modest, two vehicle company into one of the largest private Ambulance Services in the state. A-MED continues to serve the Greater New Orleans Region and carry on Frank’s legacy.

Relatives and friends of the family, are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 924 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 1:30 PM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held at church from 11 AM until Mass time.
