Frank Thomas Gelpi

February 4, 1952 — March 22, 2026

Frank Thomas Gelpi, peacefully entered eternal rest at his residence on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the age of 74. He was a lifelong resident of Gretna, Louisiana. 

Son of the late James Joseph Gelpi Sr. and the late Dorothea Smith Gelpi. Brother to the late James Joseph, Jr., John David, Stephen Gerard (Evelyn), Thomas Martin, Theodore Michael, Robert Charles (Linda), Joseph Vincent (Susie), Barbara G. Baier (Paul), and Margaret G. Miller (Ron). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Frank worked as a Bio-Med Technician at Charity Hospital until his retirement. While enlisted in the United States Army, he received an award for proficiency in weapons marksmanship. He loved sailing, mechanical restoration, and research. He was dedicated to his faith in God and chose to live a quiet life. 

Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, beginning at 9AM until 11AM. A Memorial Mass will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11AM.
