Frank Chifici passed away on December 15, 2020. Beloved husband of Jacqueline Baker Chifici, his high school sweetheart, for 63 years. Father of Pamalyn Chifici Higgins (Kent) and Cathy Chifici Heitmeier. Grandfather of Capt. Jordan C. Higgins (Danielle Phillips), Taylor Higgins Smith (Daniel), Dr. Leah E. Heitmeier, and Meghan Heitmeier Wiley (Zachary). Great-grandfather of Savannah Paige Smith and Gavin Wade Smith. Son of the late Charles Chifici and Rose Ingraffia Chifici. Brother of twin sister Virginia Chifici Williams (late Milton “Bob”) and the late Charlie Chifici (late Dorothy). Brother-in-law of Janice Baker (late Verlin “Buck”), Jan Baker Cogan (Wayne), and George Baker (Sue Tranchina). Godfather of Brian M. Baker, JoEllen Shernbeck, and Carol Williams Curtis. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 84 years and a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA. Frank graduated in 1956 from Martin Behrman High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a proprietor of an Algiers grocery store for 37 years and retired from Airport Shuttle at the age of 81. He was a member of the Italian American Marching Club New Orleans, Italian-American Society of Jefferson, and American Legion Post 218. Frank found humor in the oddest situations, always telling jokes and making people laugh. He was a people person who never knew a stranger. Frank loved music and dancing, especially dancing the “Jitter Bug” with his wife and daughters. He enthusiastically embraced his Italian heritage. Above all Frank loved being with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 1:30 PM. Visitation will be held from 11:30 until mass time. Interment St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Algiers, LA.
