Floyd "Flukie" Martin

Floyd (Flukie) Arlen Martin passed away on June 14, 2026 at the age of 91.

Floyd is survived by his loving partner of almost 25 years; Gloria Langlinais, his siblings; Carroll (Barbara/Bobby), Patricia (Phil), and MJ (Peggy Rose). Floyd was loved and adored by a host of nieces, nephews, great-niece and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews who he treated with such love and adoration. He was especially cherished and loved by his godchild, Kenneth Begovich (Ana). In addition, he was loved by many close friends and his "bonus" children, Meme Levert (John), Michael, Mario (Carolyn) and Sal Gagliano. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Cross Martin and Marcus Martin and siblings Donald, Beatrice Martin Begovich, and Melba.

Floyd was born on May 11, 1935. He worked for Bass Enterprises for almost 45 years and was always a hardworking and fair man. He will always be remembered for his zest for life. In his early years he enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially his beloved hunting dogs. He spent many days mentoring his nephews and passing on his love of the sport to them. Later in life he loved riding in parades and everything related to Mardi Gras. He never missed a parade and celebrating with family and friends up until the very end. He was also an avid Saints and LSU Football fan and loved music and dancing. Floyd will be greatly missed by all who knew him and had the pleasure of sharing life with him.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 1:30PM in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, in Harvey, LA. Visitation will begin at 11AM. Interment will be at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave., in Gretna, LA immediately following Mass.
