Floyd Ray Dyson, 87, of Waggaman, LA passed away on January 5, 2017 with family by his side. He is survived by his wife Bobbie Cruice Dyson of 66 years. He was born on December 28, 1929 in Cheniere Au Tigre, LA, the son of the late O’neal Dyson of Cheniere Au Tigre, LA and Alice Suire Dyson Kibbe of Forked Island, LA. He was the youngest of 5 children. His siblings include Earline Broussard, the late Curley Dyson, the late Gladys Frederick, and the late Beulah Thibodeaux. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. After his discharge, he was employed by Baker Oil Tools until his retirement after 32 years. He was a “jack of all trades” and could repair or build anything and enjoyed doing so. He also enjoyed deer hunting for many years in the Atchafalaya Basin. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Robby and E.J. Cormier of Jacksonville, NC; his daughter and son-in-law, Gail (Barbier) and Hield Smith of Harvey, LA; his daughter and son-in-law, Rendy and Randy Barnett of Lumberton, MS; his daughter and son-in-law, Danette and Darrell Springer of Laurel, MS; and his son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Kim Dyson of Breaux Bridge, LA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 8am until 10am at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA and a mass will follow at 10am.
